A master of two mediums, Claudia L. Brookes creates loose and colorful, "painterly" watercolors and oils of the subjects she likes best. She paints to record the beautiful, open countryside surrounding her home in rural northern Maryland...her travels to Maine and other scenic locales...flowers and gardens...and animal subjects. She is especially known for her ability to capture the action and excitement of horse racing, particularly in the difficult medium of watercolor, and offers signed and numbered giclee prints of a variety of equestrian subjects. The artist is a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and an active member of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association and The Artists' Association of St. John (VI). Hundreds of her paintings now hang in corporate and private collections in the US and elsewhere.
