| I painted this in the town of Easton, Maryland, as a competitor for Plein Air Easton 2009. The day was overcast, so I knew that I would not have changing shadows to deal with, giving me plenty of time to complete this challenging subject that included some of the architecture of the Easton Historical Society Gardens. There was only a little rain while I painted, but enough to make the old brick walk sparkle a bit with cool reflected light. The beautiful pink crepe myrtles of the garden were a pleasure to paint, and included in this painting is another artist working on her own painting of the gardens. |
