| On Tilghman Island, Maryland, on an unexpectedly beautiful afternoon in November, I painted this oil of one of the two Crowe Brothers boats, both well-known motifs on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The Crowe Bros. II boat is in a greater state of disrepair than the Crowe Bros. I boat, also berthed in this same harbor. However, the light falling on it that afternoon was extraordinary and brought beauty to the old boat as the scene was bathed in rich, golden light. |
